Letting Go to Allow More In

We all know that there are relationships, jobs and situations in our lives that we would be better served if we just let them go. The identities, stories and attachments we’ve created around them may seem impossible to shed. No matter how hard we try, it seems like a constant battle that goes on in our minds. Do we stay or do we go—do we let go of what no longer serves us? Often, when we feel like we are losing the battle, we hang on even tighter.

We are often plagued by a fear of missing out. If we let go and move on, what happens if a better situation unfolds without us? Instead focus on the better future waiting for you. What if that better future cannot unfold if you are still clinging to the past?

We are so often afraid of the future and the uncertainty of what it brings that we are content to settle for the misery of what is.

As a child, I was terrified of the night. Someone once told me that there is nothing in the darkness except what I put there—there is nothing there except the fears I’ve created and projected into the darkness. In the same way, often the fear and uncertainty we feel about the future is only what our minds have created.

We live in a loving and supportive Universe and everything is unfolding for our highest and greatest good. If we learn to trust in the Universe, many of our fears begin to melt away.

But how do we let go and move on? Are there instances in your life where you did let go and it worked out for you—was it a relationship, job, place, or a thing that you needed to let go of and now you are a better person for it?

Start small. Start letting go of the little things now so you can build the muscle to start letting go of the bigger things later. I love the Feng Shui practice of letting go of twenty-seven items for nine days. For nine days in a row, get rid of (throw away, recycle, or give away) twenty-seven things that no longer represent you or align with your future goals. It energetically clears the space to allow new things to enter your life.

When the glass is full of water, it is not able to receive more. Empty the glass so you can receive the abundance that awaits you.

We Are the Creator!

We are made in the image and likeness of the Creator. Consequently, our purpose is to expand and to create because we are the creator of our life experiences.

As energetic beings, we are made of the same creative life force of the universe. Our job is to create and to expand. We see this creative expansion all around us.

We are also the creator of our lives through our choices and where we put our conscious attention. We choose how we react in every moment. We choose whether we come from a place of love or from a place of fear, hatred or lack. We create the stories and judgements that then mirrors the experiences we will have. Are we consciously creating the energetic frequency of how we want to experience life?

When we judge or condemn others, it also separates us from the creative life force that lives within us all – and it separates us from the Creator. What if we also continue to have similar experiences (or lifetimes) until we learn to choose love? When we choose love, we grow and expand in the awareness that we are love.

Where can we love more? On a daily basis, identify one difficult situation or person in your life – and choose to come from a place of love. If everything in life is here to serve us, how is this situation helping you to learn and to grow? It is often in the contrasts of life that we gain clarity for what we want and don’t want? In the absence, there is also often the appreciation.

The essence of who we are is love and by choosing love, we expand in that awareness. Choose to create more love in your life.
