All her life, Judi was plagued by feelings of fear, of not fitting in, and of not being enough. Facing a crisis of purpose, she embarks on a transformational journey of self-discovery and uncovers a shocking past-life connection to someone dear to her.
She learns to open her heart, release her stories, and understand forgiveness in a whole new way.
This compelling and relatable narrative includes reflections and exercises to help you open your own heart and access forgiveness, even for the most painful acts. You’ll come away with a profound understanding that despite—or perhaps because of—our perceived flaws and mistakes, we can all experience the world as it really is: Perfect.
Born in Trinidad, Judi immigrated to the United States as a child. She started her career as a Certified Public Accountant and went on to excel in the world of corporate finance while raising two children with her loving husband.
Most of her life has been dedicated to personal development and helping others excel in a constantly changing environment. Over the past several years, Judi’s interest shifted toward spirituality. Her growth was no longer aimed at making herself better; instead, she began to focus on finding her intrinsic wholeness. This shift brought her numerous lessons around the nature of the Creator, forgiveness, and the trajectory each soul follows throughout the course of many lives.
Today, sharing these lessons is an integral part of her journey. As a coach, speaker, and author, she shares her relatable and heartfelt messages with others who want to awaken to their true greatness and experience lasting happiness. This is her first book.
Judi’s perspective on life is that everything is happening exactly as it should be and that each experience we have is a lesson and opportunity to grow in joy and authentic expression. As she often says, “Everything is unfolding perfectly—we can truly never get it wrong.” What a wonderful way to interpret and experience life!
But you may be thinking to yourself, “What happens when things seemingly go wrong? What happens when we feel hurt or betrayed or we don’t feel loveable, important, or good enough?” These are completely valid questions. As we are creatures of habit, our habitual negative thoughts and feelings often become the stories we play over and over hundreds of times in our minds until they become our reality.
According to cultural anthropologist Angeles Arrien, in some indigenous cultures, people are encouraged to tell their story when they’ve had a painful or traumatic experience—but no more than three times. These cultures recognize that it’s important to share the difficult story with loving and supportive people in order to release the pain, but repeating it more than three times while hanging onto the pain keeps them trapped in the energy of victimhood. In fact, if a person continues to repeat their story, they’ll be dangled over a cliff until they speak only about the wisdom learned from that experience rather than the pain.
In Perfect, Judi presents a much easier (and much less scary!) process for freeing ourselves from cycles of negativity. Within the pages of this book, you’ll hear her own transformational journey and learn powerful tools to overcome your limiting stories (no cliff involved). The profound and inspiring processes she offers show us how we can transmute fear into love and joy through the power of forgiveness.
One of the greatest discoveries I learned when I was doing research for my book Happy for No Reason is that we each have a “happiness set-point.” Our set-point, which is based on our genetic tendencies (50 percent), our circumstances (10 percent), and our habits (40 percent) is like a thermostat setting we hover around, unless we do something consciously to change it.
Fortunately, we can change our set-point through changing our habits. How freeing! Rather than being victims of our circumstances, we have the power to significantly influence our level of happiness by changing our habits of thoughts, feelings, and actions!
Perfect helps show you how to do that. It invites you to look at life differently and experience greater joy and expansion by shifting your conscious awareness.
I’ve had the pleasure of mentoring Judi for a number of years and over this time, I’ve witnessed a dramatic shift in her own happiness level. She’s become deeply centered, joyful, and at peace as she’s mastered and embodied the principles she offers in her book. Judi is a beautiful, loving soul and a passionate seeker of truth. Her authenticity, warmth, and wisdom radiate throughout the pages of this book. What a gift that she followed her heart in sharing her lessons learned with us.
Perfect is a must read for anyone who wants to experience a quantum leap in their joy. May the wisdom in this book help you experience greater happiness, and may you enjoy the journey with an open and receptive heart.
